It now becomes important to mention a device that looks like a hockey puck called the "Puck". The dealer picks up your pass-line bet. Shooter : The Player that rolls the dice. Among the best bets are Pass and Come, especially when you take advantage of the associated free odds bets. The game is played with a pair of dice, which are thrown by the ‘shooter’, a player who is currently holding the dice. On the other hand a total of 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 on the come out roll immediately ends the round. Craps is the casino dice game. Pass Line bets lose if the come-out roll is 2, 3 or 12. In the Point phase of the game, the objective is to roll the same number as the Point, before you roll a seven. A player who bets all of these without excluding the Field Bet is called the Big Stinky by the other players and the cocktail waitress will stop serving him at that point, until he rolls a Tiny Rufus followed by a Chocolate Fetus (a 5 and a 6) If the current shooter does make his "Point", the dice are returned to him and he then begins the new "Come Out" roll. While the game does look complex and has its own extensive terminology, it is relatively simple to master. The "Pass Line" and Don’t Pass Line" bet are the most common bets to make. The puck stays on this "Point" until the shooter either makes his "Point" or until he sevens out. He keeps a constant watch over the game. He continues to roll until he "sevens out". You never want to make more than three of these bets at a time, unless you're including a Seven-Up in which case you want to make all of them at once, except for the Field Bet. If the shooter rolls 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 the shooter must roll this same number again (to win) before rolling the number 7. Players take turn rolling the dice, clockwise around the table, and the player rolling at any given time is called the "shooter". The bet loses automatically if the shooter rolls 2, 3 or 12. After rolling 7, 11, 2, 3 or 12, the Shooter comes out again. Other players may join in and place their own bets. At that point, he has the option of getting a 6 to 5 payout if he gets a Dead Leprechaun or even money if he rolls a Liver Smoothie, which is when the dice land closest to the player with the Hawaian shirt. In the simplest form of the game, you place a bet on the Pass Line and attempt to roll a 7. The stickman controls the action of the dice and the pace of the game.

How do you behave at the craps table? The craps game has rules and etiquette. There is a certain etiquette that craps players stick to. While the dice are in the middle of the table place your bet. Have it clear in your mind what bets to place. The dice is handled with one hand. The only way to change hands is to put the dice on the table, let go, then take them with the other hand. When throwing the dice, the player should hit the wall at the opposite end of the table. A more controllable short roll is called a "no roll". It is also a "no roll" if a die or both dice leave the table. Dealers aren't allowed to touch the players or hand chips directly to a player, and vice versa. The dealer takes the cash laid down on the layout and places chips in front of the player. A player can leave the table or the casino for any reason, asked by the casino. When offered the dice to shoot, a player may pass the dice to the next player without fear of offending anyone. One player must always be a shooter. To continue the game he should bet on either the pass line or don't pass line. Tip the dealers. Dealers don't get paid that much, particularly in the US. To to toss chips onto the table and say, "For the dealers" or "For the boys" is the most common way of tipping. Placing a bet for the dealers is also common. A two-way bet is one that is part for the player and part for the dealers. The dealers' bet is smaller than the player's bet. To change dice in the middle of a roll is considered bad luck. The shooter calls "Same Dice!" if he doesn't want a new die. Food, drinks, cigarettes, and other things should remain off the chip rail and shouldn't be held over the table. Leaving the table after a successful come-out roll is felt to be bad luck. Players' hands should be removed from the table area when the shooter is ready to roll. The stickman often says: "hands high, let 'em fly" or "dice are out, hands high". Coloring up should be done only when the player is preparing to leave the table. It is permitted to color up and then decide to stay for one more round. But coloring up multiple times while at the same table is impolite.
