A new game in Craps begins with the ""Come Out"" roll. It is one of the few truly social casino games, and one of the few played with dice. That player isn't allowed to roll either, but the dice become "dead" when they hit the third dead player, so a new pair is chosen by the stickman and given back to the first player. Preparing to to leave the table the player can do coloring up. To color up and then decide to stay for one more round is generally permissible. But to color up multiple times while at the same table is impolite.
