Many Craps bets offer very favorable odds to the player, and if you bet wisely, you can keep the house's advantage to a very small percentage (about 0.6% in the best cases) The puck stays on this "Point" until the shooter either makes his "Point" or until he sevens out. if the shooter doesn't automatically win or lose on the first roll, then the number becomes the Bastard, and that's why everyone wants to Nail the Bastard by rolling the same number again. There are two ways to bet on Craps, the "right" way, that is with the dice, or the "wrong" way, against the dice. After seeing all bets are down, the stickman pushes a few sets of dice to the shooter. This is known as "rolling craps". The objective is to bet whether the Shooter will roll a winning combination. If you fail to roll a 7 or 11, a point is established on the number of the value of the dice rolled. Payoffs are made based on the number combination displayed when the dice come to rest. Before you can play a game of craps you must first place your bets. It probably won't be your turn to roll right away, and if you're still getting used to the game you can pass your turn (unless you're the only one playing, of course) There are many betting options available, but you only need to understand a few of them to play the game, have fun and win. Any other number moves you into the bonus round. The basic idea behind Craps is to establish a "point" number and roll that number again before rolling a 7 (craps) It is one of the few truly social casino games, and one of the few played with dice. A game played by one or more players against a casino is bank craps. All players' bets are covered and the odds on the payout are set by the casino. Players roll two dice in turn. The dice are rolled by the "shooter". Other players at the table will make bets on the shooter's dice rolls. The game is played in rounds. The first roll of a new round is called the "come-out roll". To begin, the table minimum on either the "Pass" line or the "Don't Pass" line must be betted by a player who wants to be a shooter. The shooter is then presented with five dice by the stickman. Two of them are picked. If the Point numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 are rolled, the come-out roll is over. The shooter will now continue rolling until either the point is rolled or a seven. If the shooter is successful in rolling the point, the result is a win for the pass line. The pass line loses if the shooter rolls a seven. Then the next player (clockwise) becomes the shooter. For each round or each roll players can make a large number of bets. In a casino craps there are four employees. A boxman guards the chips, supervises the dealers and handles coloring out players. Bets are collected and paid by two base dealers standing to either side of the boxman. Across the table from the boxman a stickman stands. The bets are taken, the results of each roll are announced, the dice are collected and the dealers are directed to pay winners by him. Each employee makes sure the other is paying out winners correctly. The dealers insist that the dice must be rolled with one hand and bounced off the far wall of the table. The game is kept fair with the help of these requirements.

If the shooter wants to roll the dice he is required to make either a Pass or a Don't Pass bet. For the game to continue the shooter's stake must be covered by another player. The person covering the shooter will always bet against the shooter. As long as there is another player willing to cover the shooter other players may make bets.
