Craps Games

The game of Craps can be as simple or as complicated as you wish to make it. The basic idea behind Craps is to establish a "point" number and roll that number again before rolling a 7 (craps) It is strongly suggested that you read up about the kinds of bets available in the Types of Bets section. These bets win if 6 or 8 is rolled and lose if 7 is rolled. One person, the shooter (who may or may not be betting), rolls two dice. In the simplest game you place a bet on the pass line and attempt to roll a seven. To bet with the shooter, you must place your bet in an area marked ""Pass Line"", before the new shooter rolls the dice. If the current shooter does make his "Point", the dice are returned to him and he then begins the new "Come Out" roll. Craps is usually played on a large sunken table. The "wrong" player wins when the "right" player loses. We'll cover all this in our lesson on how to play craps. It is one of the few truly social games played in modern casinos, and one of the few played with dice. The table is covered with a betting layout, where you can place chips to make different types of bets. We'll ignore the bad bets completely. Box Cars: this is when the Shooter rolls two 6's. By clicking on a pile of chips you increase it's bet by the denomination of the current chip until there are 10 chips, the pile will then change it's denomination to the next highest chip size. No matter what stage the game is in, whether on the "Come Out" roll, or in progress, you can jump in immediately and place any bets. This area is a strip on the table layout and it rims the table directly above the "Pass Line". Each dealer handles all the players on his side. Players take turn rolling the dice, clockwise around the table, and the player rolling at any given time is called the "shooter". Many Craps bets offer very favorable odds to the player, and if you bet wisely, you can keep the house's advantage to a very small percentage (about 0.6% in the best cases) At this point place another chip below (due South) of your original bet.
